I wondered if anyone had a list of flowers/plants that attract Butterflys...I used a commercial seed blend (designed to attract them, no list of course on the pacakge) and my friends the squirrels had a hey-dey unearthing the seeds and making a mess out of my garden......Any input would be fantastic! Hope everyone is having a great Spring..it's GORGEOUS today..(makes me realize how much work there is to do though, before summer and I don't wanna!)

...at the bottom of this page is advice on building a garden etc... I've always noticed that they love echinacea or purple cone flowers. Good luck and have fun!

I know it sounds funny, but butterfly bushes are GREAT for attracting butterfly's and so are white dragonflowers (who wouldn't love it with THAT name?!?), Scabiosa's, Columbine's, Asclepias, Hollyhock's, Rudbeckia Toto and Peruvian Red Verbena. All of these are available at www.directgardening.com and are very reasonably priced. I used to work for a landscaper and he used this website for a while because the prices were so cheap. He said the only problem he had was that people wanted to see results instantly and the plants from direct gardening were small. But not bad for a homeowner who had the patience to let them grow for a year to see results. Good luck!
